Installation of four monitoring wells with screening intervals from approximately 15 to 35
feet below surface grade NO to investigate the lateral extent of residual soil
contamination, and for collection of quarterly groundwater samples to investigate
groundwater gradient and contamination. The four monitoring wells will be located
approximately 85 feet southwest, 50 feet southeast, 85 feet east, and 55 feet north of the
former underground storage tank(UST)location.
2. Installation of one deep monitoring well with a screen interval from approximately 55 to
65 feet bsg to delineate the vertical extent of contamination at the source area. The well
will be located approximately eight feet south of monitoring well MW-I and adjacent to
the former UST site.
3. Soil samples will be collected at five-foot intervals for lithological classification, and
based on field observations and the detection of volatile organic compounds using an
organic vapor meter with a photo ionization detector, selected soil samples and
groundwater samples collected quarterly will be analyzed for:
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-g) by United States Environmental
Protection Agency(EPA) SW-846 method 801513;
• Benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, and total xylenes (BTEX) by EPA SW-84
8021B or 8260B• 6 methods
• Methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE), tertiary butyl alcohol TB
(DIPE),ethyl tertiary-butyl ether(ETBE), tertiary amyl methyl ether(TAME),pyl ether
ethylene dibromide (EDB), and 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) by EPA SW-846
\ method 8260B.
