PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES <br /> Applicable site assessment permits will be obtained from the EHD.In addition,an access agreement <br /> will be obtained from an adjacent site(Comfort Air)owner(Mr.Greg Gaut of Comfort Air,Inc.)in <br /> order to advance borings off-site. <br /> A Site Health and Safety Plan(SHSP)will be prepared in accordance with Occupational Safety and <br /> Health Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities (National Institute for Occupational <br /> Safety and Health Administration)and federal(29 CFR 1910.120)and state(Title 8,Cal.Code Reg., <br /> Section 5192)regulations. The SHSP will cover: <br /> • Health and safety officer and key personnel,and personnel requirements and responsibilities; <br /> • Field activities, overall work practices and standard operating procedures;. <br /> • On-site chemicals and potential hazardous substances as well as physical hazards; <br /> • Risk analysis for existing site conditions, and description of personal protective equipment <br /> to be used by personnel; <br /> • Site control measures,including work zones and security measures,and entry procedures for <br /> confined spaces; and <br /> • Exposure monitoring plan with monitoring methods, emergency response plan addressing <br /> hazardous material/waste releases, and medical surveillance requirements. <br /> All field personnel will be trained in hazardous materials communication and will have completed <br /> a 40-hour Health and Safety Course as specified in OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and <br /> Emergency Response Standard [29 CFR 1910.120(e)], and 8-hour annual refresher courses as <br /> necessary. <br /> Prior to mobilization,the area of investigation will be clearly marked and a utility clearance obtained <br /> through Underground Service Alert. <br /> 2.2. CONE PENETROMETER TEST <br /> AGE proposes to advance one CPT sounding boring on-site to characterize lithology and evaluate <br /> ground water flow units(permeability).One CPT sounding boring will be advanced on the adjacent <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc. <br />
