Mr. Michael T. Goldstein
January 6 , 1986
Page 2
Task 4
Perform another computer run of the Random-Walk program to determine
if the model has accurately predicted chloroform concentrations in
the downgradient wells. Following confirmation of the model , it will
be used to predict the location of the 100 part per billion
chloroform concentration in June 1986 , and January and June 1987 .
Task 5
Evaluate the results of the above to determine if the lateral and
vertical extent of the plume has been defined and if additional wells
are necessary to define the chloroform plume.
Task 6
Install a monitoring well to a depth between 100 and 150 feet in the
vicinity of BC12 and BC13. This well will be developed, slug-tested,
and sampled for chloroform. Water level data will be obtained for
use in accomplishing Task 2. The well will be monitored during
performance of Task 3. Data from the well will be used in
performance of Tasks 4 and 5.
Brown and Caldwell is prepared to begin well installation immediately
following approval of this plan and well locations by all of the
concerned agencies . To facilitate well installation, we will file
well permit applications with the San Joaquin Local Health District
and notify our drilling subcontractors of this upcoming work by
January 10, 1986.
We appreciate providing this service to you. If you have any
questions, please contact me.
Very truly yours,
BROWN AND CCALDWELL
n
Thomas K.
