The revised MRP was signed by the Executive Officer on 30 November 2001 and the MRP
became effective on 1 January 2002. The violations are described below.
January 2002 Monitoring Report
For the industrial wastewater monitoring requirements the following deficiencies were noted:
• Biochemical Oxygen Demand(BOD)was not reported on a weekly basis.
• Total Settleable Solids (TSS) was not reported.
• Nitrate as Nitrogen(NO3 as N)was not reported.
• Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen (TKN)was not reported.
• Total coliform was not reported.
For the Wastewater Pond Monitoring the following deficiencies were noted:
• Freeboard was not reported.
• Dissolved oxygen in the pond was not reported.
• Wastewater stored in other ponds (i.e. emergency pond or diesel pond) was not monitored.
For the Land Application Area the following deficiencies were noted:
• The hydraulic loading rate is described in hours of wastewater application and therefore does not
allow calculation of BOD and Total Nitrogen(TN) loading rates. The revised MRP requires the
loading rate to be presented in inches/acre/month.
• The BOD loading rate is not presented.
• The TN loading rate is not presented.
California Environmental Protection Agency
0 Recycled Paper
The energy challenge facing California is real.
