However, the
well is not required to fully penetrate the saturated zone if it exceeds 20 feet.
6. The Discharger shall submit a summary of the unsaturated zone lysimter work
conducted and any additional recommendations to repair the system. This summary
must be included in the groundwater monitoring well installation report.
Staff appreciates the effort Musco has put forth to comply with the request to upgrade the
DMP associated with the Class II surface impoundments, The Discharger shall incorporate
the recommendations listed above into the scope of work. Musco shall submit a groundwater
monitoring well installation report by 15 January 2011, and shall include an evaluation of the
unsaturated zone monitoring system.
Musco has proposed to collect monthly samples of the newly installed groundwater wells to
compile a dataset for statistical analysis, which will be presented in a Water Quality Protection
Standards (WQPS) Report. This plan is acceptable and the WQPS Report is due by
15 May 2012.
Please call me at-916-464-4737 if you have any questions
Z;':F-4-et'
TODD A.
