' • kn KLEINFELDER
' soil sample was characterized as a gravelly, silty sand. The grain size analysis showed 20.2% of
the sample as gravel, 27.3% silty/clay, and 52.5% sand. Only 27.3% of the sample passed the
#200 sieve. The permeability of the 120-foot soil sample was 9.6 x 10-8 (cm/sec). The 120-foot
soil sample was characterized through the grain size analysis as light brown clayey fine sandy
' silt. The percentages of the components of the soil sample at 120-foot were 65% silt, 19% sand,
and 16% clay. Approximately 81% of the sample passed the #200 sieve.
Two soil samples collected from TW-2 were also analyzed in an undisturbed state. The soil
' samples in TW-2 were collected from the 5-foot and 26'/2 foot intervals. The soil samples
collected from the 5-foot interval had a permeability of 9.28 x 10-6 (cm/sec) The 5-foot soil
sample was characterized as sandy silty/clay with 24.7% sand, and 75.3% silt/clay. The
' permeability of the 26%2 foot soil sample in TW-2 was 4.14 x 10.7 (cm/sec). The 26%2 foot soil
sample was characterized through the grain size analysis as green sandy clayey silt. The soil
sample consisted of 59% silt, 33% clay, and 8% sand. A total of 92% of the sample passed the
#200 sieve.
' A groundwater sample was collected for analysis from each deep boring. The groundwater
' samples were analyzed for sodium, chloride, total dissolved solids, dissolved inorganic solids,
and specific conductivy. The following table displays the detected concentrations of the outlined
analytes and the associated water quality goals as they apply to the samples.
t
Constituent/ Boring Location/ Primary Secondary Suggested Agricultural Taste and
' Laboratory Method Sample Identification MCL MCL No Water Odor
No. Adverse Quality Goal Threshold
Response
' TW-1/ TW-2/ Level
22089 22095 (SNARL)
Sodium/EPA 200.7 386 mg/I 340 I NA NA 2 mg/1 NA NA
' Chloride/EPA 300.0 480 mg/I 226 mg/1 NA 250 mg/I NA 106 250 m
Total Dissolved Solids/ 1,840 mg/I 1,160 mg/1 NA 500 mg/I NA 450 mg/L 250 mg/L
EPA 160.1
' Dissolved Inorganic 160 mg/I 380 mg/1 NA NA NA NA NA
Solids/EPA 160.4
Specific Conductivity/ 2,660 1,730 NA 900 NA 700 NA
' EPA 120.1 1 umchs/cm I umhos/cm umhos/cm umhos/cm
mg/I-milligrams per liter
1 umbos/cm—micromhos per centimeter
SNARLS—Suggested no adverse response levels
MCL—Maximum contaminant level
USEPA—United States Environmental Protection Agency
' DHS—Department of Health Services
NA—Not Applicable
20-2594-03.004/2011R447 Page 12 of 16
Copyright 2001 Kleinfelder, Inc.
