' KLEINFELDER
' was 226 mg/L, which did not exceed the SMCL. The range of chloride in the wastewater ranges
' from 240 mg/L to 680 mg/L.
The EPA has a SMCL for Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) of 500 mg/L. The concentration of TDS
' in TW-1 was 1,840 mg/L, and in TW-2 the concentration of TDS was 1,160 mg/L. The
concentrations of TDS in both groundwater samples exceeded the SMCLs. The range of TDS in
' the wastewater is reported to be 2,500 mg/L to 4,560 mg/L.
' The SMCL for Electrical Conductance (EC) is 900 umhos/cm. The detected EC for the
groundwater sample TW-1 was 2,660 umhos/cm, and in TW-2 the EC was-1,730 umhos/cm.
' The SMCLs were exceeded in both groundwater samples.
The Dissolved Inorganic Solids (DIS) in TW-1 and TW-2 showed concentrations of 160 mg/L
' and 380 mg/L respectively. There were no regulatory guidelines available to compare the DIS
concentrations found in the groundwater samples submitted for analysis. The range of DIS in the
' wastewater is 1300 mg/L to 2750 mg/L.
' Maximum contaminant levels (MCLs) are a part of the drinking water standards adopted by the
California Department of Health Services (DHS). The United States Environmental Protection
' Agency (USEPA) also adopts MCLs under the Safe Drinking Water Act. DHS' drinking water
standards must be at least as stringent as those adopted by the USEPA. Primary MCLs are
derived from health based criteria (i.e. cancer risk). Secondary MCLs are derived from human
' welfare considerations (i.e. taste, odor, laundry staining).
' This report is subject to the "Limitations" presented in Chapter 6 of this report. Any other party
(other than Musco Olive Products, Inc. or regulatory agencies having enforcement jurisdiction
' for this site) who would like to use this report shall notify Kleinfelder, Inc. of such intended use
by executing the"Application for Authorization to Use"contained in Appendix E.
t
20-2594-03.004/2011 R447 Page 14 of 16
' Copyright 2001 Kleinfelder,Inc.
