• ennedy/Jenks Consultants
Section 3: Site Description
The olive processing Facility and packaging plant are located in the northern portion of the Site,
adjacent to Highway 580. The 1-MG pond is located to the southwest of the processing Facility
along the western property boundary, northeast of the 84-MG reservoir and between
groundwater monitoring wells MW-4 and MW-5. The Groundwater Characterization Report
(Kennedy/Jenks 2004a) characterized the topography of the processing area as somewhat flat,
transitioning to rolling and sometimes steep hills south of the plant near the 1-MG pond and land
application area.
The USGS digital raster graphic (DRG) of the surface topography at the Site shows the 1-MG
pond was constructed at an elevation of approximately 330 feet above mean sea level (AMSL)
with a topographic gradient of approximately 0.1 vertical feet per horizontal foot(ft/ft), which is
equivalent to a 4.5% slope. Over the years, the banks of the 1-MG pond have become steeply
incised due to scouring. The 1-MG pond is accessible by unpaved roads.
i..
Work Plan for Soil Characterization, Page 4
Musco Family Olive Company, Tracy, California
_._ p3;-.roupSaOcenyobW7s79fOh Wird„pdivgp9.rewaSsucheilmOnonQ,wrkpinllezt rbc
