All soils removed -will be -stockpiled--in-a .secure,area on a sheet of visqueen. The soil -will -then•be -covered with vi squeen pntil'disposal can be -arranged. _ -Two -soil 'samples will _then be "extracted at the 15' depth by Roy f F. .W6ston Labs. Additionally,--one more sample-will be .extracted-at a depth of-Z'�-from under ther' existing_asphalt coveapproximately _ I '50'..-from-the__tank l.pit. This ,sample will-be-to verify any exi.sting- backgrourid-levels,of.-lead'on.the site. All samples will be analyzed _ -- for total inorganic lead content,. Upon':receipt,of.sample results 'a-plan for further work- will be m submitted, or a request 'to complete the-closure. - 3) -Tank 3 Pipeline P, 2" steel diesel_fuel.product line.-from .tank #3 to the northwest corner of-.the truck shop was -rew6ved`on May .30, 1989. - The length of the 'product• line was _in excess-of 200 feet. (See site map) . Thirteen soil samples were-=collected by,Roy F. Weston Labs. All thirteen were -collected•,at a:depth of two-feet-below,grade. All samples are identi- fied''as 'P-l-P-12A_as°`well'as•dispenser A, or P-1-P-12B and dispenser "A" samples were .analyzed,:using EPA standard -8020.. All "B" samples-were analyzed`using- EPA .standard 8015-madif led. - ~Under the 8015 modified,- only .sawple .12--B contained a total 'petro- leum hydrocarbon.value. This value is 24 ppm. . Unddr the 8020 :standard, samples P2A,-,P2-4, P7 A, P8-A, P97A, w P10-A, 'Pll-A, P12=A:a dispenser-A indicate slight,valises -for Tolulene. As.a.means of-remediation-and further data gathering-we propose to excavate-the product,li_ne trench to-a,depth.•of four feet -from.-grade. - All• excavated`;:roaterial .will be stockpiied-on visqueen in a secure area r - with.a, of visqueen_covening the soil. Five-,Soil -samples.will be collected along the trench at the direction_ =- of-a'San -Joa . in Local Health District re resentative.
