File No. 20-3121-02
August 25, 1989
Page 3
In our geotechnical report dated November 2, 1988, groundwater was not
encountered. In order to comply with this requirement, three test borings
were drilled on August 2, 1989 to depths of 35 to 40 feet. Logs of the three
test borings are attached on Plates III through V and the locations are shown
on Plate I. At the time the holes were drilled groundwater was measured at
depths of 31 to 32 feet below the existing ground surface. In order to
establish groundwater gradient, the ground surface at the boring locations was
measured using survey equipment. Presented below is a summary of the
survey information and groundwater readings. Since gradient only was desired,
we selected as a datum of 0.0 feet the ground level at Boring 11.
Groundwater Elevation Based on
Depth Below Ground Surface Elevation
Location Ground Surface of 0.01 at Boring 11
Boring 11 -321 -321
Boring 12 -31.31 -30.31
Boring 13 -311 -29.61
Based on our field measurements, we conclude that the groundwater gradient
is generally in the northwest direction which is in agreement with the
Regional Groundwater Map of Fall 1988 prepared by the San Joaquin County
Flood Control and Water Conservation District.
KLEINFELDER 2825 East Myrtle Street, Stockton, CA 95205 (209) 948-1345
