File No. 20-3121-02
August 25, 1989
Page 2
the City of Manteca Sanitary Sewer System. On August 2, 1989, a
representative of our firm visited 25 homes along Northland Road all within
1/2 mile from the site to obtain information on the extent of septic tank use
and if any problems were known to exist with this method of sewage disposal.
During the morning hours at which time our survey was performed, 15
residences were occupied and our representative was told that no problems
had been noted in sewage disposal or in water quality from their domestic
w ells.
Item C-2:
Suitability of the soil for development utilizing septic systems.
Reference is made to our report dated March 6, 1989, summarizing the results
of two percolation tests performed at locations shown on Plate I. The tests
were performed in accordance with standard procedures accepted by San
Joaquin County. Both percolation tests showed a percolation rate of 10
minutes per inch which is a relatively fast rate. San Joaquin County requires
a minimum percolation rate of 60 minutes per inch. The soils are generally
silty sand interbedded with silt and clay. This soil profile is ideal for
filtering waste. For these reasons, it is our opinion that the soils meet the
County guidelines.
Item C-3:
The depth and gradient of the groundwater table.
KLEINFELDER 2825 East Myrtle Street, Stockton, CA 95205 (209) 948-1345
