Mitigation Plan . County policies and regulations ,
including Section 9-1135 of the County Development
Title , which require appropriate control of storm
drainage in new developments should be applied to all
future Projects . The potential impact of increased
boating could be mitigated to an insignificant level
by establishing and enforcing appropriate boat speed
limits , which reduce wake production .
• See FEIR, Section 6 . 1 .
15 . Potentially Significant Impact • Visual Quality
Cumulative impacts from additional proposed projects in
the Project ' s immediate vicinity could significantly
alter the visual gateway to the County; an east-west
development "corridor" along I-580 and I-205 could result
from growth.
Finding : Changes or alterations have been required in,
or incorporated into , the Project which, together with
the mitigation measures set forth below, would
substantially lessen the significant environmental effect
as identified in the FEIR to a non-significant level .
Statement of Fact : In addition to the Project-specific
mitigations discussed above, the following mitigation
measures are required to mitigate the Project ' s
cumulative impacts :
• Mitigation measures to reduce the associated visual
impacts of growth along I-580 and i-205 would be
similar to those recommended for the Project which
include: extensive setbacks of development from the
freeway; landscaping with evergreen trees to screen
development from view; and, continuation of
agricultural operations adjacent to the freeway to
maintain the existing rural ambience.
Permanently-protected open space at the edges of new
development would also mitigate potential visual
quality impacts .
• See FEIR, Section 6 . 1 .
16 . Potentially Significant Impact • Fiscal Impacts
Fiscal constraints on the County from nondiscretionary
expenditures could increase if proposed new communities
are unable to "pay their own way.
