POSITION SUMARY <br />Title: Status: Job Class: Date: <br />Firewatch Guard/Haz Mat Tech Non -Exempt 13601 04/02/96 <br />Reports to: Department: <br />Safety Coordinator Safety & Security <br />SUMMARY <br />Tour the plant, offices and grounds on a regular schedule to watch for fires and fire hazards. Responsible for collection <br />and consolidation of hazardous waste for transportation and disposal. <br />MAJOR DUTIES <br />1. Tour the. plant and facilities on a regular schedule, being alert for fires, fire hazards and unusual situations requiring <br />attention. <br />2. Notify the Fire Department of fires. <br />3. Notify a supervisor or other appropriate authority of fire hazards or unusual situations requiring attention. <br />4. Fill in on the switchboard when necessary. <br />5. Inspect fire extinguisher and fire sprinkler alarm systems in the plant and facilities, and submit written reports; take <br />corrective action as required. <br />6.
