Inhalation of <br /> vapors can cause irritation of respiratory passages. <br /> PERSONAL PROTECTION <br /> Wear chemical goggles, face shield, and protective gloves, clothing and footwear when handling this ma- <br /> terial.Wear respiratory protection when exposed to acid mist. Emergency safety shower and eye wash should <br /> be available. <br /> FIRST AID <br /> In case of contact, immediately flush skin or eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. If acid is swal- <br /> lowed, do not induce vomiting. Have victim drink plenty of water or milk. Get medical attention. <br /> FIRE AND REACTIVITY <br /> Not flammable but highly reactive and capable of igniting finely divided materials on contact. Reacts to pro- <br /> duce flammable and explosive hydrogen gas when in contact with most metals. Reacts violently with water <br /> and organic materials. <br /> SPILL REPORTING <br /> Runoff can pollute the environment. Dyke for containment. Federal regulations require carriers to report any <br /> spill or discharge of any quantity of sulfuric acid to the proper authorities on DOT Form F-5800.1. Under cer- <br /> tain circumstances an immediate report of a spill or discharge is also required (See 49 CFR Section 171.15 <br /> and .16). Additionally, if 1000 pounds or more of sulfuric acid is spilled or discharged (accidentally or inten- <br /> tionally) into the environment, the spill must be reported immediately to the U.S. Coast Guard National Re- <br /> sponse Center at either of the following toll-free numbers:800/424-8802 or 202/426-2675(See 49 CFR Section <br /> 171.17), (40 CFR Section 302.6). <br /> The information contained herein has been prepared from sources believed to be reliable.The J.
