These units include a oil%water <br /> separator as well as a underground used oil recovery- tank. We have also <br /> decided, after Hugh acGrade and I inspected Naval Communication Station on <br /> April 13 , 1936, that the solvent storage tank adjacent to Building 707 must be <br /> permitted. <br /> Since Naval Communication Station has already been issued a hazardous waste <br /> facility permit from the Department of Health Services for the operation of the <br /> hazardous waste storage building. 304A, we will modify this permit to includa <br /> the above mentioned units. Before the permit can be modified, the operation <br /> plan must be modified to include information about the units. ?lease submit <br /> within 30 days after receipt of this letter, the indicated operation plan <br /> information on each of the following facilities: <br /> Oil Interceptors at Building 410 and 509 <br /> - Describe the operation of the oil interceptors. Indicate the type of waste <br /> involved in the operation and intially how it is :generated. <br /> - Estimate the monthly and annual quanitities of waste produced by these two <br /> units. <br /> - Describe how often the oil/water separator as well as the oil recovery <br /> tanks will be emptied and checked for leaks. Describe the process of <br /> emptying waste out of these units. Indicate where the waste will be <br /> transferred. <br /> - Describe the waste analyses plan to ensure the waste is chemically and <br /> physically characterized before leaving the facility. Include the <br /> param,:?ters for which the waste :ill be analyzed. <br /> Include the design stand=ards and construction Mans for these units. <br />
