BMP DESCRIPTION <br /> Frequenc f Respon ible <br /> Oleophilic Absorbent Use commercially available oil absorbing, hydrophobic (water rejecting) booms to Monthly Plant <br /> Booms remove oil, grease, and debris from run-off water. Run-off water discharges off Manager <br /> site, after passing through the boom. Place booms in storm drain catch basin <br /> inlets. Place booms where run-off water exits facility. Booms should be <br /> checked for tears in fabric every month or after storm event conclusion. <br /> Run-off deflected Berms, booms or other materials are to be used to deflect water from Fixed or Plant <br /> from contaminated contaminated work areas to avoid storm water contamination. when rain Manager <br /> work area imminent <br /> Spill Control Maintain spill control kit with: absorbents or kitty litter, broom, dust pan, and Always Plant <br /> shop vacuum. Use shop vac to pick up large oil spills, emptying shop vac in Manager <br /> used oil containers. Use kitty litter for small spills and clean-up. Spills requiring <br /> outside pump truck for clean-up are to be recorded and reported in the annual <br /> report. Spill control kit is stored in various locations, depending on need and last <br /> usage. Kitty litter is to be swept up and may be disposed of as regular waste, if <br /> oil is not leaking from absorbent.
