t
6 IMPLEMENTATION PHASE:
6.1 Employee Training
Management training will be received annually. Training will be provided by outside
consultants, agency outreach programs, and/or trade association programs. Employee
training has been found to be more effective when incorporated into the way business is
conducted at this facility. Employees are trained continually on proper methods to avoid
storm water run-off contamination and spill clean-up methods as part of their job.
6.2 BMP Implementation and Spill Clean-up
BMP implementation is detailed in Table III.
6.2.1 BMP Narrative
BMPs are detailed in Table IV.
6.3 Conduct record keeping and reporting
Monitoring and site inspections are conducted to determine the effectiveness of
facility BMPs. Evaluations are made at the facility to reduce or eliminate pollutants from
storm water discharges and from authorized non-storm water discharges. The SWPPP and
BMPs are revised to meet changing conditions.
Observations and measurements determine overall BMP effectiveness and if unknown
pollutants are entering the storm water run-off. An annual review of all inspection and
sampling data will be conducted to determine what site specific SWPPP revisions will be
effective in reducing storm water run-off pollution.
6.4 Non storm water Discharge Visual observations. Table V
Four inspections for un-authorized non-storm discharges will be made annually.
These observations shall occur during normal daylight working hours when no storm event
is occurring. These quarterly site inspections shall be conducted between January-March,
April-June, July-September, and October-December. These observations shall be 6 to 18
weeks apart. Observations shall identify sources of illegal discharges to the storm drain
system, evidence of contamination of legal discharges, and presence and sources of odor,
turbidity, stains, discolorations, and floating materials. These observations are to be
recorded in Table V.
Illegal discharges include:
Illegal discharge that are to be reported and eliminated.
Parts Washing
Rinse water
Wash water
Vehicle Washing
NexFrame LP-WDID#5SM020707 November 1, 2007
SWPPP -14-
