Page 11 of 15 <br /> Attachment C <br /> Fire Extinguishing Equipment <br /> Fire extinguishing equipment is located throughout the facility as shown on the Site Plans. Portions of the <br /> operations are equipped with sprinklered systems to assist with fire suppression. The primary type of fire <br /> extinguishing equipment available portable fire extinguishers mounted throughout the facility. <br /> Fire Extinguisher Located throughout the building, Type A,B,C and older, un-rated dry chemical fire <br /> extinguishers are designed to extinguish smaller fires, and are typically activated by <br /> removing a pin and activating the squeeze handle. The extinguisher should be <br /> pointed at the base of the flame and swept side to side until the flame is out. SUSD <br /> employees are not required to assist with fighting a fire and are advised to make <br /> notification to their manager or the emergency coordinator then proceed to the <br /> evacuation assembly area noted on the site map. <br /> Safety and First Aid Equipment <br /> First Aid Kits—Located throughout the facility for treatment of minor injuries such as cuts and scrapes. <br /> Each kit should contain antiseptic or antiseptic wipes and an assortment of bandages for minor cuts. More <br /> serious injuries will be treated at an off site hospital or other medical facility. <br /> Eye Wash Fountains/Showers—Located throughout the facility in areas where there is potential for <br /> exposure to hazardous materials or hazardous waste. <br />
