The spill kits are of varying size and capability depending on <br /> where they are located. The spill kits should each have an inventory attached to it and may contain any of <br /> the following items: <br /> Spill Kit Item Capabilities/Limitations <br /> Absorbent Booms Used to surround and absorb a spill. Can be placed around drain inlet to limit <br /> discharge. Most absorbent booms are capable of absorbing most liquids <br /> including oil, fuels, and solvents. <br /> Absorbent Pads Used to absorb spill once it is surrounded. Most pads are also capable of <br /> absorbing a combination of liquids. <br /> Dry Sweep Absorbent Used to absorb spilled liquid materials. Capable of absorbing fuels, oils, or <br /> solvents. Containers of clean sweep absorbent are found within the <br /> maintenance shop areas. Facilities stocks s <br /> Gloves Nitrile gloves are available in maintenance shop areas and should be worn by <br /> anyone responding to clean up a hazardous material spill. <br /> Broom, shovel Located with containers of dry sweep sorbent at various locations throughout <br /> the facility for spill containment and cleanup. <br /> Drums Facility stocks new 55-gallon drums for collection and disposal of any <br /> cleanup debris. <br /> Tyvek Coveralls Located in spill kits to use while cleaning up a hazardous material spill. <br /> Safety Goggles Also located in spill kits to use while cleaning up a hazardous material <br /> spill. <br />
