Attachment E
Communications and Alarm Systems
The primary communication system within the SUSD facilities is the phone system. The emergency
coordinator or their alternate may be reached by:
1.) Calling the appropriate extension.
2.) Calling via Nextel portable phone/radio.
3.)Paging.
Alarm Systems
The underground storage tanks are equipped with monitoring sensors that would alert the operator in the
event of a systems malfunction or failure, and shut down the turbine pump that feeds the fuel to dispensers.
Facility-wide notification or evacuation is done through phone and radio contact of key managers and
facility personnel. Verbal notification is then made to those employees not readily accessible by telephone.
Alerting employees to hazardous material spills will be accomplished by verbal means for incidents that
require notification in the immediate work area only, and not facility-wide notification.
