The following are known hazardous wastes that Caltrans <br /> generates in routine maintenance activities. <br /> A. Antifreeze <br /> B. Asbestos <br /> C. Battery Acid <br /> D. Batteries <br /> E. Chemical Cleaners <br /> F. Corrosion Inhibitor <br /> G. Cleaning Solvents <br /> H. Cutting Lubricants <br /> I. Etching Acids <br /> J. Epoxy/Epoxy waste <br /> K. Freon/Refrigerants <br /> L. Sump Sludge/Absorbent Materials <br /> M. Petroleum Products: <br /> 1. Diesel fuel <br /> 2. Gasoline <br /> 3. Hydraulic Fluid <br /> 4. Paint thinner <br /> 5. Paint remover <br /> 6. Acetone <br /> 7. Paint/Thermo Plastic waste <br /> 8. Used Oil <br /> 9. Oil Filters <br /> 10. CRF/Asphalt Emulsion <br /> 11. RSI/Crack Fillers <br /> N. Pesticides and Pesticide containers <br /> O. Sandblasting waste(which contains toxic metals, i.e. lead, zinc, nickel etc.) <br /> P. Treated Wood sign and guardrail Posts <br /> Q. Polyphenols <br /> R. Fusees/flares. <br /> S. Waste tires and tire scraps <br /> T. Universal waste/electronic waste including LED's, Sodium and Mercury Vapor <br /> lamps,Neon tubes, Lighting Ballasts (non PCB), and batteries. <br /> This is only a partial list of the hazardous wastes generated by Caltrans.
