MAINTENANCE HAZARDOUS WASTE MANUAL <br />Chapter 2 <br />Page 26 <br />Figure l: Generated Waste Form Instruction <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA - DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION <br />GENERATED WASTE/MONTHLY SUMMARY OF DAILY/WEEKLY <br />INSPECTIONS <br />HQ-MTCE-01 (Rev. 8/19/1999) <br />INSTRUCTIONS <br />Generated Waste/Monthly Summary of Daily/Weekly Inspections <br />Maintenance Yard Enter name of Caltrans Station. <br />EPA# Enter the Environmental Protection Agency Number that is <br />assigned to this station. <br />District/Cost Center Enter your District and Cost Center (Crew Number). <br />Region Enter the name of your Maintenance Region. <br />Month/Year Enter the month and year of this inspection. Reports shall be <br />completed at the end of each month. <br />Lube Room & Building <br />Items 1-6: Use the Legend to log weekly if your lube room and buildings <br />are: <br />C=Clean, D=Dirty, or O=Oily. D/O is possible (i.e., the barn is dirty <br />and oily). If the mechanics area needs attention, simply make a copy and <br />give it to the mechanic. <br />Generated Waste Storage Area and Waste Oil <br />Items 7-12: Use the Legend to log weekly Y=Yes, N=No, or S=Stored properly to <br />the following: (#7) Do you have treated posts? At end of month enter the total amount <br />of posts to the right of Quantity. (#8) All drums should be enclosed once they have <br />any waste in them. Working waste does not have to be sealed but should always be <br />covered. (#9) Recycled Waste Container shall be labeled and stenciled. (#10) Waste <br />Drums shall be labeled with the name of the product as soon as it is put in the drum. <br />The basic on-site storage time limitation has been 90 days for all California <br />generators of hazardous waste. However, 1995 legislation has made some changes <br />that your District Hazmat Manager will inform you of where applicable. At the end of <br />the month, you should enter the total number of Waste Drums you have to the left of <br />Week 1 line. (#11) You should leave the tops on your empty drums and either lay <br />them on their side or upside down. (#12) Please enter the start date of when you <br />achieved 55 gallons of product at your yard. <br />July 2018 <br />
