Able to safely drive to various job sites and setup a safe work area prior to conducting repairs on equipment • Able to safely move a variety of construction equipment to safely position equipment for repair • Can safely operate a forklift, bridge crane and vehicle crane and other required tools and equipment to perform a variety of job functions • High school or GED preferred. Technical school, AWS Welding Certification is encouraged. Small Tools Mechanic • Maintains, services and repairs small construction tools, including: compressors, generators, changeable message boards, cut-off saws, etc., uses a variety of power tools and hand tools and operates equipment as necessary. • High School diploma preferred. Technical training preferred. • Valid California Driver's License; company forklift certification, welding certification preferred. • 3-5 years prior small tools/engine mechanics experience preferred. • Ability to read and interpret written instructions and schematics; Good mechanical aptitude; Good manual dexterity; Basic math skills; Good problem-solving skills; Good task organization and time management. Low Bed Truck Driver • Drives a low bed truck to transfer heavy equipment, such as dozers, compactors, loaders, blades, and paving machines, from construction site to construction site. This includes loading and unloading the equipment, securing the equipment on the truck and transporting it to and from point of origin to the destination jobsite. • Education/training none required. • Class A (Commercial) Driver's license; Double (S/B Class A) or Triple endorsements (Hazmat Endorsement); Valid Medical Card; prefer Teamsters Union, Forklift certification. • Prior truck driving experience preferred. • Good manual dexterity; good agility; good communication skills; basic mechanic skills, general construction knowledge; good visual perception skills.
