JOB TITLES AND DESCRIPTIONS Page 4 Truck Mechanic (Operating Engineer/Machinist) • Valid California driver's license, Class B for some vehicles and Class C for others • Conducts safety inspections on vehicles under 26,000 pounds and DOT compliance documented inspections for vehicles 26,001 pounds and over • Diagnoses and troubleshoots to determine extent of repairs needed as well as performs repairs on off highway vehicles • Uses hand and power tools as well as hydraulic jacks and vehicle or shop cranes to perform minor and major repairs on off highway vehicles • Performs preventive maintenance on various off highway vehicles • Enters daily time via computer workorder system to process time and document repairs on equipment • Performs maintenance and repairs on equipment at the shop as well as field sites • High school or GED required. CPR and First Aid encouraged. Additional technical school, manufacturer's training or college helpful. Must have good mechanical aptitude and good communication skills Partsman • Responsible for ordering all parts, tools and supplies for the Mobile Equipment fleet • Organizes and manages the inventory of all parts and supplies • Documents utilizing the workorder system the proper charge out of all parts to the respective equipment/vehicle coordinating with the respective mechanic • Valid California driver's license class C minimum • Able to safely operate a forklift + High school or GED required. Additional college, manufacturer, dealership or technical training helpful. Must be able to read and write English as well as intermediate computer skills required HDR —Welder • Responsible for cutting, fabrication of components and welding metal for the repair of heavy construction equipment • Anticipates materials, supplies tools and equipment placement needed to make each repair • Able to operate a variety of welding equipment to fabricate and repair worn or broken equipment and components on equipment
