o The specific number is given to all craft employees who will process their time to the work order. o Administrative attendees are noted on the work order by the safety specialist. o The work order is completed and later closed by the safety specialist. o A summary sheet is processed documenting the attendance of each craft employee that participated in the safety training. o A copy of the summary is submitted to Mobile Equipment administrative personnel for filing as well as for compliance with the EEO Sixteen Steps Program. o Upon request per State, Federal or Environmental compliance officer the training materials and work order can be called up via our EAM program to verify the training of our craft personnel and administrative personnel that have been noted on the work order. SAFETY PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT • The safety specialist is responsible for the research, purchase, training and implementation of personal protective equipment for our employees. • Some of the personal protective equipment utilized: o Safety steel toe boot program. A program that encourages the wearing of 8 inch steel toe safety boots. The program reimburses each employee yearly for 50% of the expense for their actively purchasing and wearing steel toe safety boots. o Prescription safety glasses are coordinated with the division procurement manager whereby employees are eligible to have safety glasses custom made on an annual or as needed basis. o Respirator requirements are first tested to see if there are alternatives to our employee wearing a respirator for the job. If required the employee is medically certified through our occupational clinic, trained, provided the proper respirator for the specific task, and tested. The employee is retested and medically recertified annually. Documentation of training as well as the logging of use is maintained by the safety specialist. o Other personal protective equipment is provided including gloves, knee pads, hearing protection etc. The purchasing and training is done by the safety specialist. SAFETY SUGGESTION AND SAFETY CORRECTION • All Mobile Equipment shops are empowered to act upon any safety suggestion made by one of our employees.
