Introduction
Overview As a company dedicated to improving the lives of those we serve through
innovative and high-quality health and pharmacy services, CVS/pharmacy
understands the need for a healthy environment, and is committed to
fostering a culture of environmental responsibility within our company.
Waste materials that could potentially be harmful may be generated at our
stores in the ordinary course of our business. In order to protect the
environment, Federal (US Environmental Protection Agency) and State
regulations have been developed that restrict retailers from disposing of
certain items on their premises (e.g. in the trash/dumpster or down the
drain).
The CVS/pharmacy Hazardous Waste Management Program for Retail
Operations (Program) is designed to provide a mechanism for the proper
identification and disposal of waste materials, particularly those that may be
hazardous when disposed. This program overview is included as part of the
overall Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Program Binder and is
designed to supplement the environmental training materials provided on
LEARNet.
This Program is administered by the CVS/pharmacy Corporate
Environmental, Health and Safety Department; under Keith Seavey, Director
of Environmental, Health and Safety.
Environmental Contact:
Wendy Brant
Corporate Environmental Manager
1 CVS Drive
Woonsocket, RI 02895
Wendy.Brant@CVSCaremark.com
A hard copy of this Program must be maintained in the EH&S Program
Binder located in the Store Manager's office. It is the responsibility of the
Corporate EH&S Department to periodically update the Program and to
communicate those updates through Workload Manager, LEARNet, and any
other methods as they see fit.
@ CVS/pharmacy 3
CONFIDENTIAL BUSINESS INFORMATION
CVS000010344
