,r. _ar d w us Write Collection Area, continued
Labeling Collection Containers
As described in the initial set up of your hazardous waste collection area, each hazardous
waste collection label must be completed with the accumulation start date, store # and
address. The accumulation start date is the date you first put waste into the container. The
labels provided for this program are not used as DOT shipping labels and, therefore, are
not required to list each individual hazard of the waste. The Stericycle technician will
properly segregate and label waste prior to transporting waste to the transportation,
storage, and disposal facility (TSDF). After each Stericycle service event, the Store
Manager or other authorized colleague must re-label totes immediately after pickup.
Managing Your Hazardous Waste Collection Area
Now that you have your hazardous waste area set up and understand the requirements for
properly collecting your waste, the hazardous waste collection area must be properly
maintained. The Store Manager is responsible for assigning colleagues to manage the
store's collection area.
t0Do NOT block access to the collection area. Aisle space must remain
clear at all times and labels must remain visible.
pharmacy- I 1wronmentall 12
Health&Safety
