In the event of a hazardous materials/waste spill, employees are authorized <br />to take immediate action to cleanup a small amount of material if it does not <br />present an exposure hazard. Employees will gD-I_y undertake such action if <br />they have received prior training in the hazards of the materials, encountered <br />safe means of handling the materials, and the appropriate personal protective <br />equipment (PPE) requirements for the respective materials. Absorbent <br />materials and appropriate PPE are available to employees to use -in such <br />cleanups. <br />B. If the emergency is significant, a large spill occurs, a significant release is <br />threatened, or additional help is. needed, employees are required to <br />immediately notify their supervisor or the Emergency Coordinator (EC). <br />The EC or the senior supervisor on-site shall direct the emergency response <br />and the cleanup as appropriate. If a significant emergency occurs in the <br />mixing room , the mixing room employee must activate the mixing room <br />warning system: <br />1 The warning system consists of an alarm and a strobe light external <br />to the mixing room. <br />2. Upon seeing the strobe light and/or hearing the alarm, emplouees, are <br />to immediately notify the emergency coordinator and assist in <br />emergency respose as necessary. <br />M <br />
