In order to <br />approve the application, SR0054127, and grant the exemption requested the following <br />deficiencies must be addressed: <br />The application and plans submitted to this office are inadequate. All questions on <br />the application are applicable and must be completed. 3 complete sets of plans of the <br />facility and underground storage tank system, along with specifications on all <br />materials to be used in construction: <br />'a) Detail of tank, associated piping, excavation, fill material, and cover. <br />b) Plot plan to show location and placement of tank and all associated <br />piping, including information describing if they are to be installed <br />aboveground, underground, in a vault, etc. <br />c) Secondary containment submitted does not fulfill the requirements of 23 <br />CCR 2631. <br />d) Monitoring program submitted does not fulfill the requirements of 23 <br />CCR 2632. <br />e) Buoyancy calculations must be submitted and signed by a Professional <br />Engineer. <br />f) Overspill containment/Overfill prevention on the fill riser per 23 CCR <br />2635. <br />2. The plans do not indicate how the piping associated with the underground storage tank (UST) <br />will be protected from corrosion. Per CCR, Title 23 section 2636(b) all corrodible <br />underground piping, if in direct contact with backfill material, shall be protected against <br />corrosion. Piping constructed of fiberglass -reinforced plastic, steel with cathodic protection, <br />or steel isolated from direct contact with backfill, fulfills this corrosion protection <br />requirement. Cathodic protection shall meet the requirements of section 2635(a) (2). <br />2. The Xerxes Underground Chemical Tanks Limited Warranty requires that a customer <br />
