UaaKz c45-1.x s "Hard Angle" Conduit Repair Instructions <br /> For any"Hard Angle"Conduit <br /> repairs applications For any (Hard Angle" Conduit Repair Kit <br /> Page 1 This repair kit provides a custom made split repair boot,for repairing existing Steel or Rigid Conduit Pie from to 1e5"CID in <br /> Rev 2 11-11-2010 <br /> Direct Burial applications where the pipe is coming thr€a the sump wall at any extreme angle. <br /> WARNING:Prepare all surfaces to be bonded prior to completing installation steps below. <br /> `> Failure to follow each step will void warranty&may result in premature failure of penetration fitting. <br /> This Kit applies for repairing: Any conduit fitting where the conduit enters the sump at an extreme angle with Rigid conduit piping <br /> from 1/2"to 1.5"OD <br /> � :- <br /> EL-- <br /> % 'T <br /> General Instructions for: CLEANING:Spray all surfaces to be bonded with DBC Cleaner and allow to air dry or wipe excess with a clean dry cloth. Surfaces must be dry before applying bonder. <br /> General Instructions for: BONDING TO POLY SUMPS OR FIBERGLASS SUMPS: Clean,sand and rough up sump surfaces. Clean fitting and apply Zi -Tice or Dbetween Bonding Ring& <br /> sump wall. <br /> STEP 1: Loosen Nuts&pull Back Metal Ring <br /> • Remove Nuts&clamp In some cases you may need to cut off the studs. <br /> • Pull back metal mounting flange&discard The studs may need to;be removed if the alignment of the repair boot, <br /> • Cut off old boot&discard �. fails to match up with the studs or if there is some other item in the <br /> • If present,Cut away old insert&discard <br /> way of placing the repair boot over the studs or remounting the ; <br /> • Clean off any paste'or other bonders from around the old part body&sump wall, k, mounting flange&stud nuts. However,it is best to leave the studs <br /> • Clean&sand sump wall in place whenever possible <br /> • Spray old part body&sanded sump wall with DBC cleaner ;,- , <br /> STEP 2: Clean all Repair 45 Degree 2.4' Insert to Cleaner <br /> Components Repair Boot Bonding Ring match the The Bonding Ring will probably be needed if the studs are cut away: <br /> at conduit pipe <br /> • Clean all repair The Bonding Ring ma be needed if a better sealing surface is needed at the sump <br /> r <br /> r <br /> I <br /> components with DBC .1 " 'a,'•-' k <br /> wall when the studs are cut away. <br /> prior to installation r i <br /> STEP 3: DRY FIT the parts to determine if the Bonding Ring is needed <br /> • Place the split Repair Boot over the conduit,with the base toward the sump wall <br /> • Slide the repair boot over the studs. If the part fits and you can and you feel you can get a"good tight seal"when you replace the flange nuts,then proceed to the next step. <br /> • If you don't feel you get a"good tight seal",then try placing the bonding ring over the studs between the repair boot&the sump wall&re-attach the flange nuts. <br /> • Make sure that the sealing grooves on the bonding ring are positioned toward the sump wall <br /> F STEP 4: Bond the Repair Boot,Bonding Ring if used,&Insert _ µ <br /> Remove the flange nuts&pull back the parts _._.._ .. <br /> 1 Because of the shape of the Repair Boot,if may need to <br /> Place the split insert over the pipe "held together by hand"during the bonding process <br /> 1 � f Make sure that the sealing grooves on the bonding ring are facing toward the sump wall € <br /> Bond with Z n-T ite&clamp the bonding ring rather than try to use the clamps to hold the repair i <br /> Bond with o Lite&clamp the repair boot € boottogether.
