C7 Encore Island Adapter Kit Installation The Encore Island Adapter Kit M03064KO01 can be installed during an upgrade from a wide frame (48 -inch) Advantage Unit to an Encore Unit. The adapter kit is needed due to the difference in the footprint size of the units. The kit is installed after The Advantage Unit has been removed and before the Encore Unit is set into position. The adaptor may be painted to suit station requierments as stated in the Purpose paragraph. The pit box in the island must be altered to accommodate the adapter kit. The following procedures describe how to alter the pit box and install the adapter kit. 1 Read all instructions before beginning and observe all safety precautions during installation. 2 Make sure that all power has been removed from the installation area. Refer to MDE-3893 Encore/Eclipse Owners Manual for details on removing system power. 3 In Kit M03064K001, locate the Encore Island Adapter Unit and 3M 2084 sealant. 4 After the original dispensing unit is removed, the pit box is exposed. Observe that the pit box has a lip around the top perimeter that extends upward approximately one inch. This height extension may vary at each installation depending on type pit box installed. 5 Lay the Encore Island Adapter over the pit box. Note that the vertical protuding lip of the pit box is longer than the center opening in the adapter. Center the adapter on the existing pit box. 6 Using a marker, make required cut marks on the vertical pit box lip in four places (Figure 1) approximately 5 millimeters (1/4 inch) inside the inner perimeter of the adapter. The additional lip removal allows for clearance when installing the adapter over the original pit box. 7 Remove the island adapter and set aside.
