Page 11 of 23 Standard Operating Procedures <br />Health and Safety Plans <br />8.1 Site Exclusion Zone <br />The area of the Site where work will be conducted (the work zone) will be marked by a chain <br />link fence. No personnel shall work in the work zone without a buddy. All workers within the <br />work zone shall wear the proper personal protective equipment (see section 8.2). No <br />unauthorized persons will be allowed in the work zone during Site activities. It is anticipated <br />that all work will be performed under level D. <br />8.2 Personal Protection <br />8.2.1 General <br />The level of protection to be worn by field personnel will be defined and controlled by the <br />SHSM with approval of the OHSM. Protection may be upgraded or downgraded by the SHSM <br />on the basis of action levels presented for the activities listed below: <br />Task Level of Protection <br />• Sampling D <br />• Decontamination D <br />8.2.2 Respiratory Protection and Clothing <br />Three levels of protective equipment are discussed below including Level D, Level C, and Level <br />B. <br />Level D Protection <br />1.
