An emergency plan is required by OSHA (29CFR 1910.120)
to be available for use and is included below. A copy of this plan shall be posted in the Support
zone at each work Site.
The SHSM shall implement this emergency plan whenever conditions at the Site warrant such
action.
13.1 Evacuation
In the event of an emergency situation, such as fire, explosion, significant release of particulates,
etc., an air hom or other appropriate device will be sounded by the SHSM for approximately
ten seconds indicating the initiation of evacuation procedures. Under
no circumstances will incoming personnel or visitors be allowed to proceed into the area once
the emergency signal has been given. The SHSM must see that access for emergency equipment
is provided and that all combustion apparatus has been shutdown once the alarm has been
sounded. Once the safety of all personnel is established, the fire department and other
emergency response groups will be notified by telephone of the emergency. The hospital route
will be posted on-site (Figure 1).
13.2 Potential or Actual Fire or Explosion
If the potential for a fire exists or if an actual fire or explosion occurs, the following procedures
will be implemented:
Immediately evacuate the Site as described above (Section 13.1) and
Notify fire and police
Fire Department: 911
Police Department: 911
ROUX ASSOCIATES HASP. 4/93 3425 Tracy Boulevard
Tracy, California
