Wiring between the probes and the controller is designed with limited electrical power to probe wires so there is insufficient energy to ignite fuel. To maintain this safety feature, probe wires must be installed in a separate conduit from all other wiring. Probe wires MUST NOT be run in same conduit as power wires. CA Probe Junction Box And Vapor Seal Installation Install a vapor seal at both ends of the conduit. One end must be at the probe end of the conduit and the other end before the the conduit enters the building. Install a weatherproof electrical junc- tion box with a gasketed cover at the end of each conduit at the probe location. Pull the twisted pair shielded cable, #22 AWG or heavier, between the controller and each probe location. The wires must be designed for use in the presence of gasoline and/or oil, and the con- duit must be sealed in accordance with the Na- tional Electrical Code, (NFPA 70), and meet the specification pertaining to the product being monitored as defined by Flammable and Com- bustible Liquids Code, (NFPA 30), and other local codes, since they pass from a Class I, Division 1 area into a non -hazardous area. WARNING: The installation and use of this product must comply with the National Electrical Code, federal, state and local codes, and any other applicable safety codes.
