0 SECTION 1 i .? FUEL PUMP AND DISPENSER INSTALLATION <br />G. The Contractor shall install machinery guards provided by the equipment manufacturer. <br />Ruards shown on engineering drawings, or as specified by the Owner's representative. The <br />Contractor shall check installed guards for firm mounting to ensure that proper clearances are <br />maintained. and that access for lubrication, revolution counter, maintenance, and other like items <br />are properly positioned. <br />H. The Contractor shall firmly attach plate fabricated equipment items to supporting members <br />and stiffen as required to relieve undue stresses and vibration. The Contractor shall install all <br />gaskets where required and as indicated by engineering and vendor drawings. All welding shall <br />be performed by personnel qualified for the class of Work to which they are assigned. <br />1. Before operating mechanical equipment, the Contractor shall remove all construction <br />debris in the area of the equipment, check the equipment for interferences, foreign materials, and <br />excessive stresses: check moving elements for proper freedom of movement, direction of <br />rotation, and other like operations: and make adjustments as required by codes or Specifications. <br />J. The Contractor shall maintain a log of information (in accordance with manufacturer's or the <br />owners rep's. recommendation) relative to installation and alignment of the equipment, including <br />items such as difficult or special procedures required: location of alignment markings, <br />benchmarks. and other like items for reference in future alignment checks of major equipment, <br />installation deviations, and like data. Upon completion of the Work, the Contractor shall transmit <br />said log to the Engineer. <br />3.03 TESTING <br />A. All testing and commissioning shall be performed in accordance with manufacturer's <br />engineering specifications or as directed by the Engineer. <br />B. Certification Requirement. Contractor shall certify in writing to the Engineer, that the <br />installation was properly performed in accordance with the manufacturer's requirements and <br />current environmental protection laws and regulations. <br />3.04 FIELD TOUCH-UP PAINTING <br />A. The Contractor shall touch up chips and scratches in painted surfaces of mechanical <br />equipment with paint matching the original manufacturer's paint type and color as nearly as <br />possible. Chips and scratches in the painted surfaces of field -fabricated steel shall also be <br />touched up with matching paint by the Contractor. <br />END OF SECTION <br />709SI125 5 of 5 <br />
