One confirmation soil sample was collected <br />from the stockpile north of the USTs excavation, two soil samples were collected from the <br />stockpile southeast of the USTs excavation and three soil samples were collected from the <br />stockpile west of the USTs excavation. The soil samples were collected from the approximate <br />locations recommended by Mr. Mc Clellon. The sampling locations are shown on Figure 1, <br />Sampling Location Plan. <br />The soil samples were stored on-site, in an ice chest, and kept cool with "Blue -ice. ° The samples <br />were transported, on the day of sampling, to BSK Analytical Laboratory (a CAL/EPA <br />Department of Toxic Substance Control certified laboratory) in Fresno, California. Proper chain - <br />of -custody protocol was maintained throughout the transfer. <br />The retained soil samples were labeled. The labels included the following information: <br />A Sample Number <br />➢ Project Number <br />➢ Sampling Date <br />➢ Sampling Time <br />➢ Name of Sampling Personnel <br />631' 1► Y ��i U�i7_tIY <br />The soil samples were collected between 10:28 A.M. and 1:06 P.M. on May 11, 1998, and were <br />submitted to the analytical laboratory at 5:15 P.M. on the day of sampling. <br />The soil samples were accompanied to the analytical laboratory by a chain -of -custody form. <br />Chain -of -custody form was initiated at the time of sampling. Duplicate chain -of -custody form <br />was placed in the project file. Chain -of -custody documentation included the following <br />information: <br />➢ Name of sampler. <br />➢ Sample I.D. number. <br />➢ Time of sample acquisition. <br />➢ Requested analyses. <br />Remarks as warranted. <br />➢ Signatures, times and dates of custody transfer. <br />ASR Engineering <br />
