The ditch width is 2-1/2' or less. 2. The paved surfaces extend at least 2' on either side of the ditch. 3. The fill material is clean sand or 1/8" to 3/4" pea gravel. 4. Six inches of fill material is placed under the pipe as bedding material. Remaining backfill above the sand or pea gravel amounts shown in the last column can be native soil if desired. Multiple lines in the same ditch should be separated by a minimum of 4" if special precautions are taken to insure that backfill material is placed under and around the pipe. In all cases there must never be a void of backfill under or around the pipe. Remember to maintain a 3' minimum bend radius for all secondary piping. A) Entering the dispenser sumps from the same sides maintains product uniformity. B) By reversing product order with each successive dispenser less piping will be required for most applications. Step Two— Piping Trench As shown above, compute the depth of the piping using a minimum 1/8" of slope per foot of secondary pipe. The total distance from the tanks to the furthest dispenser will determine the depth of the tanks. This only applies for below ground tanks. Step Three Thoroughly bed piping trench with a minimum of 6" of approved backfill material (pea gravel, or sand). Make sure all trenches are sloped with a minimum of 1/8" per foot from the furthest dispenser towards the tank field.
