liquid, temperature, depth, and water level. Based on this
input, the CIM computes volumes, and stores this information
for remote polling. The RS -232C Serial Interface
Communications port permits access to TLS -250 information
from remote locations via telephone lines. This serial
interface is capable of handling up to 16 polling stations
from centralized remote locations (SCC). The output of the
serial port can be formatted for teletype or computer
(IBM-PC) interface. The teletype output printout displays
formatted reports with spaces and headers on most 72 -column
printers or CRT terminals. The computer output gives the
information in packed data format (without spaces, carriage
returns, etc.) and is the most efficient way to interface
the CIM.
The TLS System has three modes of operation - Leak
Detection, Tank Inventory, and Automatic Delivery
Reporting. When the leak monitor mode is activated, the TLS
System continuously monitors fuel levels in each tank and
can detect small losses. An hourly report on each tanks
shows temperature -compensated inventory changes to 0.1
gallon based on inventories when the tank leak mode is
initiated. An Inventory Loss Alarm feature can initiate a
signal to an alarm on the premises, to a security agency or
to a central management location when a loss of 25 gallons
occurs during any one-hour period. The Leak Monitor is
activated through a pushbutton mounted on the front panel,
or remotely through the RS -232 Telecommunications
Interface.
The Tank Inventory Report presents the current status of
each tank. It provides station location, date and time,
volume of fuel, level of fuel, water level and temperature.
The Automatic Delivery Increase Report features are
generated two minutes after fuel is delivered to the tank.
The printout includes date, time, volume and temperature
before and after the increase and the net increase in
inventory.
Security Code
The system is designed to prevent unauthorized use from
outside persons by the security code feature. Each site
location will be assigned a Security Code in place of the
address code.
