San Joaquin St., Stockton
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has completed the review of
the application for a permit dated June 22, 2012 and all the subsequent revisions and
addendum up to August 6, 2012 to retrofit the underground storage tank (UST) system at the
above noted address with the following:
a. Replace all single-walled supply and return piping in the basement (a vault) and
aboveground piping connected to the two generators on the roof with double-
walled piping,
b. Drain residual fuel from sections of piping where fuel cannot be drained back into
UST by gravity into drums for approximately one hour, and temporarily secure
the drums within the basement of the facility for off-site disposal
C. Remove, triple-rinse, and dispose approximately 1,000 feet of fuel piping at the
facility,
d. Triple-rinse and abandon in place approximately 120 feet of piping within an
inaccessible piping chase,
e. Temporarily secure rinsate and any spent absorbent material within the
basement of the facility-for off-site disposal
f. Install new transition box on piping outside the building and,a Veeder Root 208
liquid sensor at the lowest point of the box,
g. Install new fuel and return piping with secondary containment to replace the
removed piping,
h. Separate the vent and return lines so the two are no longer combined with the
return line. Breaking concrete on the sidewalk and a new penetration into the
fill sump are required for the new dedicated vent line.
i. Install new Veeder Root firmware upgrade and cold start the monitoring system.
The permit has been approved with the following conditions:
1. Contact the local fire department and the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control
District for any applicable permits and requirements.
2. Any changes in information and scope of work must be submitted to EHD for approval
prior to commencing work. All new addenda supersede the previous ones.
