Please be aware that <br /> inspections for emergency work must be scheduled within five days of permit approval. <br /> a. Sensor functionality: Functionality of the monitoring system must be verified to <br /> ensure that monitoring has been restored to meet the requirements of Title 23 <br /> California Code of Regulations and the Health & Safety Code. A copy of the alarm <br /> history shall be printed prior to performing the "cold start" of the Veeder Root system <br /> and made available at the time of EHD inspection. <br /> b. Primary pressurized piping test on the newly installed fuel and return piping for <br /> tightness hydrostatically at 150 percent of design operating pressure, or soap test <br /> pneumatically at 110% of operating pressure or 40 psi, whichever is greater, for at <br /> least 30 minutes. <br /> c. Secondary piping soap test on the newly installed fuel and return piping: One hour <br /> pressure test per manufacturer's guidelines. If there are no manufacturer's <br /> guidelines, test shall be performed using an applicable method specified in an <br /> industry code or engineering standard. <br /> d. 24-hour hydrostatic test (or equivalent) on the fill sump. <br /> e. Secondary containment testing on the tank and return line before and after concrete <br /> is set according to manufacturer's instruction. <br /> f. Verify the section of piping to be abandoned in place are properly triple-rinsed and <br /> abandoned, record the volume of residual fuel, rinsate, and any hazardous waste <br /> generated are properly contained and transported under manifest. <br /> g. Verify disposal of the removed piping and previously removed piping. <br /> 4. Since concrete will be broken near the UST and the return piping, a secondary <br /> containment test must be performed on the UST and the return piping once concrete is <br /> poured in accordance with the manufacturer's guidelines (see Item #3e above). <br /> 5. Qualified service technicians must possess or work under the direct and personal <br /> supervision of an individual physically present at the work site who possesses all of the <br /> following: <br /> a. One of several permissible valid, current contractor's licenses issued by the <br /> Contractors State License Board (may be issued to the installation company), or a <br /> Tank Tester's license issued to the individual by the State Water Board, and <br /> b. A valid, current California UST Service Technician certificate issued by the <br /> International Code Council (ICC), and <br /> c. A valid, current certificate of training from the manufacturer(s) of the component(s) <br /> being tested, repaired, or serviced. <br /> 6. Qualified installers must possess or work under the direct and personal supervision of an <br /> individual physically present at the work site who possesses all of the following: <br /> a. A valid, current contractor's license issued by the Contractors State License Board, <br /> and <br /> b. A valid, current certificate of training from the manufacturer(s) of the component(s) <br /> being installed, and <br /> c. A valid, current UST Installation/Retrofitting certificate issued by the International <br /> Code Council (ICC). <br /> 2 <br />
