0 IVA. SYSTEM START UP
After all the wiring is complete, the system is ready for the start up test.
Tum on the AC power switch. The green LED lights on the active channels will light
to indicate power on status.
If the system is equipped with liquid sensors, the red LED lights might light up
momentarily, then turn off automatically after 1 or 2 seconds.
If the system is equipped with vapor sensors, the red LED alarm lights might light
several seconds after the power is turned on, and continue on for many minutes,
depending on the idling time of each individual vapor sensor. Allow at least two
hours of warm up time for the vapor sensors to be stabilized. If desired, turn off the
buzzer switch to avoid the warm up audio alarm.
IV.2. SYSTEM TESTS AND ADJUSTMENTS
Each active channel of the Leak Alert system is equipped with trimpots for liquid
and vapor alarm setpoint adjustments. In addition, there are two push button
switches mounted on the enclosure cover panel for alarm circuits functional tests.
IV.2.1. Liquid Alarm Adjustments
The liquid alarm adjustment trimpot marked LADJ is located above the
factorygreen power indicator LED. Adjust the LADJ trimpot clockwise until the LIQUID is
triggered, then back off the trimpot counter -clockwise 1
to 2 turns from the alarm point. The liquid alarm setpoint
is now properly adjusted.
If actual sensor functional test is desired, simply submerge
the sensor housing slowly into the liquid, the alarm should
be triggered immediately. When the sensor is removed from
the liquid, the alarm might continue for a while until the
sensor element is dried.
IV.2.2 Vapor Alarm Adjustment
The vapor alarm adjustment trimpot (marked VADJ) is located below the
red vapor alarm LED. It is essential that the vapor sensor be warmed up for
at least two hours before the alarm setpoint is adjusted.
Prior to shipment, the vapor alarm setpoint is adjusted to approximately 2'/z
turns counter -clockwise from the alarm point when the sensor is sufficiently
