Soil samples collected from within the excavation and ftom the it
removed from the excavation were submitted for analyses of diesel fuel (TPH-D)
and BTXE. On Friday, are 18,we received the results of analyses of these
samples. The sample collected within the excavation ata depth of 82 inches below
the surface showed 69 mg/kg for TPH-D, and 'ND"(not detected)for all four BTEX
analytes. The sample collected from pile of excavated it and flU showed 1400
mg/kg TPH-D. BTEX analyses showed "ND" for Benzene,0.0062 mg/kg for
Toluene, 0.13 mg/kg for Xylene, 0.015 mg1kS for Ethylbenzene,
The Closure Plan for 836-DIU1 specified that soil samples would be collected below
the underground piping as well as from below the underground tank. On March 11
e ' ie twas not ready for collection of sods 1 r.
Snavely stated that the closure would not be complete until 1.) samples were
collected as prescribed by the Clo=e an and were shown by analyses to be clean
(enough),or 2.) a pressure test was performed on the piping that showed that
piping to be leak tight.
MEqumfOPPa4m*EftW4WG(NWn*GfCaMbma-PO RwW8Lw=wm.CA 9M1-98Ws7eJ-phcm(510)422-1100&rr,,x91oLWg339U0LLL tVMR
