11-30-1999 2:57PM FROM P. 3 <br />Note- The contractor's PHS-EHD approved plans of the UST installation shall be retained at tM <br />job site and must be shown to the PHS-EHD inspector upon reque—st- In aftdon, the I <br />applicabie fire department shail approve the UST installation prior to commencement of <br />work. <br />All appointments for Lmpections must be made at leas 48 hours in advance. Below ire the <br />nirnum required inspections: <br />Before insta.1lation, the tank shall be tested for tightness at the installation site in accordance <br />wiEh the manaftcairer's writter, gwdehnes. III there are no guidelines, the primr/ and <br />secondary containment shall be test'd for tightness with air pressure between 3 and 5 pounds <br />per -square inchTn lieu of a pressure test, a vacuum expressed in inches of mercury in the <br />interstitial space: of the -wcondary contarue ient, is acceptable, The prmsure (or vacuum in <br />the interstkial space) shall be maintaxed fizx a minimum of 30 mh1utes. <br />b. All now primary piping and =ondary contaiament systems shall be tested for tightness after <br />insWlation in accordance with rnanufacturer's guidelines. Primary pressurized piping shall <br />be hydrostatically tested aE 150 percent of design operating prmure or pneumatically at 110 <br />perce-ir of design operating pressure. If the calculated test pressure for pressurized piping is <br />less than 40 psi, 40 psi shall be used as the test pressure. Tlx preware shall be rmaintained <br />for a minimum of 30 minutes and all joi= shall be soap tested. If there are no <br />m <br />using an app cable a. r. guidelines, secondary containment systems shall be tested ii <br />method specified in in industry code or engineering standard. <br />All lices o&-er t1 an. pressure piping s.Wl be pressure tested at not less than 3 p.s.i. and not <br />more than 5 p -s -L for a minimum of 30 minutes and soap tested while under pressure. <br />d. Containment sumps shall pass a 24 hour hydrostatic leak test- <br />llr#rt rtlrr <br />The monitoring Vsvm sliall pass a functional test. ne functional tm shall wusist of the <br />activation of the alarm via all monitoring probes/semors. <br />9. Final inspection and approval to opmte will be granted after the above requirements are <br />satisfied and a hard copy of the Lank integrity test (as required by Section 2635 (a) (5)] is <br />submitted to the kispector at the site, <br />
