The enclosed
documents explain how the violations identified in the Inspection Report have been
corrected, and the steps Kaiser has taken to ensure full compliance with UST requirements
in the future.
Kaiser recognizes the seriousness of the matters identified in the Inspection Report and
accepts full responsibility. I can assure you that Kaiser Management, at the highest levels,
is aware of the importance of proper monitoring and management of its underground
storage tank systems, and the need to carefully document required maintenance and testing.
Kaiser has taken steps to ensure that the Manteca facility staff is knowledgeable of all legal
requirements and that they share Kaiser's commitment to compliance.
Compliance with such requirements will be the focus of enhanced scrutiny in the coming
months, as Kaiser implements its plan to decommission its UST system and replace it with
an above ground storage system. The staff of the Manteca facility looks forward to
working with you during this process.
Thank you for your consideration,
Core' .
