MONITOTING PROCEDURE, DOME WALL TANKS 3' <br />TANK MONITORING <br />EQUIPMENT AT THIS FACILITY: Veeder-Root TLS -350 Series 8470 <br />The Underground storage tanks are monitored using an approved continuous electronic monitoring <br />system (see below). This system is able to detect the presence of a leak in the primary as well as <br />secondary containment through the use of an annular space and submerged sensor. If an alarm or <br />failure condition occurs, the Operator will call Chevron Maintenance Dispatch at 800-423-3528 <br />immediately. The Operator will then record the alarm condition on a log along with the <br />investigative/corrective action steps followed to resolve the situation. Response to the alarm <br />condition will occur within 24 hours. <br />If the alarm condition is NOT the result of an equipment failure, then Chevron will repair the tank <br />system in accordance with all local and state requirements. If the alarm condition is the result of an <br />equipment failure, Chevron will repair the equipment as required and ensure that it is functioning <br />properly. <br />MONITORING SYSTEM <br />INTERSTITIAL MONITOR: X LIQUID FLOAT SWITCH SENSOR <br />EQUIPMENT AT THIS FACILITY: Veeder-Root TLS -350 Annular Space Monitor Series 794390-409 <br />MAINTENANCE CONTRACTOR: Chevron Maintenance Dispatch <br />The Operator or a designated employee performs visual monitoring of the tank monitor alarm box <br />daily. Please see the attached site map for the location of all equipment and forms for keeping <br />monitoring records at the site. The Operator will also perform inventory reconciliation according to <br />the procedure outlined in the Inventory reconciliation section of this plan. <br />The electronic monitoring devices are maintained according to manufacturer's recommendations. <br />Training will be given which includes information regarding: how to self test the electronic <br />monitoring equipment, what the equipment monitors, how to tell when the alarm goes off, how to <br />perform inventory reconciliation, record keeping requirements and procedures to follow in the event <br />of alarm activation, leak, suspected leak, or other emergency.
