ENVIRON&NTALCHEMICAL SQL IONS DI C.
" Delivering solutions to the customer"
Chevron Stations, Inc.
Best Management Practice
The goal of this BMP is to eliminate the environmental impact of hydroca. 'bon
cleaning on the stormwater system. Current cleaning methods utilizing & tergents,
solvents or even hot water, severely impact the stormwater system. Then; cleaning
methods deliver untreated toxic hydrocarbons directly into that system. If ;he
hydrocarbons are not removed, then rainwater will wash toxic hydrocarbcj is into the
system with like results. Using this BMP with Environmental Chemical S. elution's
FM products, reduces the environmental impact on the stormwater system..
1. Cleaning of areas on the outside of the facility should always be dog Le during
the driest days possible.
2. If possible, all FM cleaning solutions should be disposed of in a sari nary
sewer or washed into landscaped areas depending on the location o 'the
application.
3. If an oil/water separator is not included in the stormwater runoff sy:, tem, any
catch basin which could possibly receive wash water should have ti. I. -
recommended
recommended "T" installed. This will create a makeshift oil/water, eparator.
4. Float an oilphillic pad in the oil/water separator to absorb any entre; ted
hydrocarbon.
Fuel Pump Cleaning
Spray ••
rr and bucket method
Floor Cleaning
SprayerSponge, mop and bucket method
♦ brush method
.+ ' ++
r•
Page 6
Spill Response
Small spills
Large spills
Exterior Area CleaninN
Porous Surface Stain Cleat ing
I
