The results indicate that the 91 octane unleaded spill bucket failed
and then was repaired using a sealant.
EHD contacted OPW Fueling Components, the manufacturer of the spill bucket to find
out if the use of sealant was an acceptable repair method. According to the manufacturer,
the spill buckets cannot be repaired and must be replaced. .
Under California Code of Regulations Section 2635 (b), "all underground storage tanks
shall be equipped with a spill container and an overfill prevention system ... ect." It is the
responsibility of the owner/operator to obtain a permit to replace the failed spill bucket.
Contact this office and retain a permit to replace the spill bucket by August 9, 2004.
You may contact me at (209) 468-9847 for assistance.
Thank you,
/-14C4t 2t
Michelle Le, REHS
Senior Registered Environmental Health Specialist
