(Refer to San Joaquin
County Public Health Services/Environmental Health Division San Joaquin County Public
Health Services/Environmental Health Division [PHS/EHD] files for Site Code No. 1616).
Chaney, Walton & McCall (LLC) (CW&M) performed the field investigation at the request of
L Dole Food Company, Inc. (Dole).
4 The investigation was conducted in response to a December 15, 1999 letter from the PHS/EHD
L. to Dole, the former owner of VFO. The UST was removed from the Site on November 12,
t 1991. The PHS/EHD -approved Site Assessment Work Plan dated January 18, 2000 (Work
S
Plan) addressed the PHS/EHD's request for planning the additional investigation of Site
. conditions at the former UST location. This Addendum Report was prepared in accordance
with the guidelines for preparation of a Site assessment report set forth by the Central Valley
R office of the Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) [RWQCB Tri-Regional
Guidelines Appendices A and B, 1994],
1.1 SITE USE HISTORY
A single wall, metal construction UST of 550-gallon capacity was installed reportedly for storing
gasoline at the Site by the Site's previous owner, Tenneco West. Dole Fresh Fruit Company
acquired the VFO facility from Tenneco West in late 1986. The UST was used until November
1991, when the UST was removed from service_
According to PHS/EHD records, tank integrity tests were performed annually as required. The
testing results for the period prior to Site acquisitions by Dole indicate that the results were
within the NFPA 329 Guidelines, and that the UST and piping system were considered"tight."
based on review of information available from PHS/EHD and Dole records, there are no
indications that repairs were ever performed to the tank or associated product delivery piping.
ti DR0010f.SJCPM ARSC.062000 1
