r <br /> GEOIVIATRIX <br /> -SITE HEALTH.& SAFETY PLAN <br /> r <br /> 5. modify the site Health and Safety Plan as required based on accidents/incidents and <br /> findings regarding personnel exposures and work practices; and <br /> 6. report all accidents/incidents and findings regarding personnel exposure and work <br /> practices to the Project Manager. <br /> 4.3 SITE SAFETY OFFICER <br /> k <br /> The Site Safety Officer(SSO) shall: <br /> 1. ensure that appropriate personal protective equipment is available for Geomatrix site <br /> personnel and enforce.proper utilization of personal protective equipment by.all on- <br /> site Geomatrix personnel; <br /> 2. with guidance from the PHSO, observe subcontractor's procedures with respect to <br /> health and safety. If the SSO believes that a subcontractor's personnel are or may be <br /> exposed to an immediate Health hazard, the SSO shall suspend the subcontractor's site <br /> work. If the subcontractor's personnel,do not have required protective equipment, the <br /> SSO shall consult with the PM or PHSO before proceedingwith'the work; <br /> 3. implement the site Health and Safety Plan and report any observed deviations from <br /> site conditions anticipated in the Plan; <br /> 4. conduct site safety briefings as needed; <br /> 5. calibrate monitoring equipment daily and properly record and file results; <br /> 6. under direction of the PHSO, perform required exposure monitoring; <br /> 7. maintain monitoring equipment or arrange maintenance as necessary; <br /> S. assume other duties as directed by the PM or PHSO; and <br /> j 9. report observed.accidents/incidents or inadequate work practices to the PHSO and the <br /> PM. <br /> 4.4 PROJECT PERSONNEL <br /> Project personnel involved in on-site investigations and operations shall: <br /> k .1. take reasonable precautions to prevent injury to themselves and to their fellow em- <br /> ployees; <br /> 2. perform only those tasks that they can do safely and immediately report accidents <br /> and/or unsafe conditions to the SSO or PHSO; <br /> I:IPROJEC-n6508.0001document\6508-04.doc 3 <br />
