Site Background Information: Terminous Market
Page 3 of 3
• On 10 and 17 May 2006, AGE installed two additional on-site ground water monitoring
wells(MW-5 through MW-6)to 25 feet and 60 feet bsg,respectively.TPH-g was detected
m soil samples MW6-10 and MW6-20 at concentrations of 550 mg/kg and 1.1 mg/kg,
respectively. TPH-d was detected in sample MW6-10 at a concentration of 730 mg/kg.
BTEX condituents were detected in samples MW6-10,MW6-20,MW6-25,and MW6-28
at maximum concentrations of 1.1 mg/kg benzene, 8.4 mg/kg toluene, 7.6 mg/kg
ethylbenzene,and 32.5 mg/kg xylenes(MW6-10). TPH Y was detected in the grab ground
water auVk collected from pilot boring MW6 at 42 feet bsg at a concentration of
1,100µgl1;BTEX compounds were detected at concentrations of 2.6µg/1 benzene,20µg/1
tohiena, 13 µg/1 ethylbenzene,and 64µSII xylenes.
Analytical results o€soil and grab ground water samples are summarized in Table 1 of this appendix.
STRATIGRAPHY
In general, moist, black peat and silty peat were encountered in pilot soil borings MWS and MW6
from surface grade to approximately 3 feet bsg.Layers of sandy silt, silty sand, sandy clay, and silty
clay wee eiaeoa ntered in both borings to approximately 25 feet bsg. Silty sand was encountered m
boring MWS at 25 feet bag; m boring MW6, silty sand, sand, sandy silt, and clayey sand were
encountered behveen 25 fee and approximately 29€eat bag.A layer of mast clay eksacterized by
high plasticity, consistency, and toughness was identified in boring MW6 betweean appmximately
29 faun and 31 feet bsg. From 31 fejt bag to the total depth of boring MW6,sandy silt silty sand,
sand,and clayey sand wenn encountered.
SEN3fTIVE RECEPTOR SURVEY
In August 2005, an AGE representative reviewed well drillers' reports 1lm die California
Deprtmenl of Water Rescxrrces-Central District for wetw wells located k*e swrau nding area.
Drillers'np xb for two water wells located within a 2,W0400t radius of d w sib were identified.
• One well was located at 13994 West Highway 12; and
• One well was located approximately 100 feet south of Highway 12,approximately 0.43 miles
east of the Link Potato Slough Bridge.
On 05 Ou.kk r 2003, an AGE representative performed a reconnaissance of visually observable
potential sensitive receptors located within a 2,000-foot radius of the site.During the reconnaissance,
one domestic well was located on the eastern end of the Terminous Market site.No other visible
potential receptors were noted during the reconnaissance.
